2023 Clearcast party debrief

Last Thursday (21st September) we hosted our annual party at The Cross in Kings Cross. Not the ’90s hedonistic club it once was, but a reimagined six-story version with the same philosophy, fun!

This year’s party felt especially celebratory for us. After a successful mass transition over to The Clearcast Library for final ads and our Delivery and Subtitling services evolving at pace, we wanted to raise a glass to a busy and brilliant year.

If you joined us on the night, you may have found your way up the back staircase to the 3rd-floor velvet-heavy speakeasy, also known as, Operation Sidecar’s HQ. On this floor, TV advertising had been banned by the Anti-Ad Federation, we were all out of jobs and the world was (obviously) dull and lacklustre without them.

To get the first ad back on air in 40 years, party guests had to join the revolution and work in teams to complete puzzles and tasks to retrieve the 4-digit code to launch the ad. It was chaos, in the best possible way.

The revolutionaries who completed the escape room in under 10 minutes and came up with the best tagline have been contacted and rewarded with a (slightly off-theme) prize of £400 Uber Eats vouchers, for endless* office lunches together. Well done to Chris Dicks and his team from Thinkbox, you really do know TV ads!

The rest of the party enjoyed branded goods, DJs, canapes, live saxophone and percussion reimagining banging tunes, and of course, lots of dancing and catching up with familiar faces.

Our central role in the ad industry allows us to throw these parties to bring the whole industry together from broadcasters to production houses and everything in between. So, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

If you attended last Thursday, we’ve emailed over all the party pics, enjoy scrolling!

Until next time.
