From adapting to remote working, to the appointment of Sam Smith our new MD, 2020 has been a year of change for us, the industry and the world. Through all this our team was working hard to get your ads to air. Here are a few Clearance stats from 2020:
We considered more than 28,400 scripts, which is slightly lower than our 2019 total of around 29,000.
We considered a total of 50,839 videos in 2020. This is a drop from our 2019 total (just over 62,000), and likely due to a reduction in advertising from certain areas affected by the pandemic.
In 2020 the ASA published 27 rulings on Clearcast-cleared broadcast ads, 14 of which were upheld. This is fewer rulings than normal but not unexpected in a year that saw the ASA shift its priorities and concentrate on matters and issues directly related to the pandemic and public health.
We are pleased to say that in 2020 we fed back on 97% of scripts within our 3-day target and 99% of videos were turned around within 2 days. This exceeds our targets of 85% for scripts and 95% for videos and is a testament to the hard work of our team and our seamless move from office to remote working
This is inclusive of scripts and videos submitted through our Fast Track service – 100% of which were responded to within 24 hours.
